Bacteria, Mold, Fungus, and Biofilm

Life on planet Earth is pervasive. Everything contains living organism, from the air we breathe to the water that we drink. Bacteria, mold and fungus can sometimes live in water. While most living organisms found in water are relatively safe, contributing only to aesthetic issues like tastes, odors, the slimy biofilm that forms inside pipes, fixtures, and water-using appliances can sometimes harbor dangerous pathogenic bacteria.
